The 88-year-old Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister of former President John F. Kennedy, was surrounded by family at a hospital in Barnstable, according to Kirsten Seckler, a spokeswoman for the Special Olympics, which was founded by the elder Shriver. “Eunice Kennedy Shriver is in Cape Cod Hospital in intensive care in critical but stable condition,” said a statement by the Shriver family. “Her entire family is with her — her husband, all her children and her grandchildren.
