There are installation programs for both the Windows and the Unix versions. At installation the following parameters are required: • the interface (i.e. IP address and port number) that MailMonitor for SMTP should listen on • the address and port number of the SMTP server that MailMonitor will send mail to • an address for alerts to be sent to and where they appear to come from. Additionally on Unix: • the location of queue, quarantine and temporary directories (these are set by default in Windows but can be changed in the configuration).
