How is life coaching different from therapy?
Therapy often entails diving into your past, exploring what has happened in order to uncover and process painful reactions to current-day events. Coaching may also include some discussion about past beliefs that may be blocking you, but it generally focuses on your current views, values, assumptions and expectations in order to maximize what is important to you. I often coach happy, well-adjusted people who are just interested in understanding themselves better in order to make decisions that best suit them. Unlike therapy, coaching can take place over the phone.
