How is learning in a Magnet classroom different from a regular classroom?

0

At each Magnet school, there is one classroom in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5, that serves advanced level learners who have applied and been accepted in the Magnet Program. Although the teachers of Magnet classes follow the same County curriculum which is aligned with the Voluntary State Curriculum, learning in a Magnet classroom is often compacted and accelerated which then offers the opportunity for enrichment, extensions, and deeper inquiry. Students in the Magnet program remain with their Magnet teacher for core academic subjects (reading, math, social studies, and science), and then blend with their grade level peers for the Encore classes (library/media, music, art, and PE).
