How is Jason in Medea a tragic hero?
Jason’s forte was his ambition. This ambition motivated him to do great deeds in search of status, wealth and power. But, he was overly ambitious in rejecting his wife and children for the status, wealth and power he could enjoy by marrying Creusa, a kings daughter. He couldn’t see that by doing so he would ruin his life and he was defeated and ultimately destroyed by his wife Medea. How is Macbeth a tragic hero? Macbeth’s greatest strength was his ambition.
