Answer-25: Excellent question! It alludes to a fact that speaks volumes about Info-gap! It is indeed totally incomprehensible how two editions of a book (Ben-Haim, 2001, 2006), devoted entirely to robust decision-making (in the face of Severe Uncertainty), propounding a methodology that in effect amounts to a Maximin model (albeit in disguise) can manage to avoid all reference to the field of “Robust Optimization”. This omission is particularly inexcusable given that one of the main theses in these books (indeed in most of the Info-Gap literature) is that Info-Gap decision theory is a new theory that is radically different from all current theories for decision under uncertainty. So, the point here is that not only is this thesis given no substantiation whatsoever, no attempt is made to investigate the relationship between the (purported) “radically different” Info-Gap robustness model and other, conventional, robust optimization models. So, all that is left to do here is to remind Inf
