How is it possible to analyze the visual field?
The patient subjected to the examination of his visual field seats with his head resting on a chin support, so that he can keep a stable position. The operator asks to the patient to fix a small light source in front of him, at the center of the dome. While the patient’s eyes are directed on the fixed light, other small lights are turned on and off around the central light (up, down and on both sides). When the patient sees the lighting of these small lights, he shall push a button that sends a signal to a computer. The results obtained are finally worked out and compared with the typical features of a normal visual field.
