How is it different from the previous assessment process?
The OPI was developed as a result of feedback from participating organisations who called on KIM to refine the assessment methodology in order to emphasise the relationship between instilling smart business processes and generating strong business results. After extensive research into excellence models, benchmarking exercises against global best practices and deep consultation with a team of technical experts, the OPI was born. With the launch of the OPI, focus has now shifted to continuous improvement. Participating organisations are now assessed in terms of the soundness of their business processes and the quality and sustainability of their results. The assessment process evaluates organisations not only on their ability to deliver results today but also on their ability to build on them year on year by creating a culture which values continuous improvement.
