Many of you may have seen or driven an Isuzu car or truck, but few of you probably know that Isuzu is a world leader in diesel engine development, with sales of over 12 million units worldwide since its beginnings in 1936. Relatively fewer folks are aware of the fact that Isuzu Motors Ltd. of Japan is 49% owned by a familiar US company called GENERAL MOTORS. For the past several years, GM and ISUZU have been building a new diesel plant in Moraine, Ohio which began production in midyear 2000.
