How is IPPF/WHR funded?
IPPF/WHR relies on support from individuals, foundations, and governments for its essential sexual and reproductive health care services. As a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, IPPF/WHR receives core support from IPPF for its ongoing operations. We have not received funding from the U.S. government since 2001, when IPPF/WHR refused to sign the Global Gag Rule, resulting in a loss of $12 million in funding. This deplorable policy denies U.S. development aid to any group that provides abortion services, or advocates for changes in abortion laws with its own funds.
