How is Internet TV different from WebTV?
Internet TV is based on an open architecture design and it does not require any proprietary software on the server or any proprietary protocol. To connect to the Internet, Internet TV needs a TCP/IP and PPP connection over a regular telephone line and a dial-up account. The PAP and CHAP protocols are then used for authentication. Most ISPs provide this kind of standard connection as well as routers with dial-up capabilities used in corporate environment.
