The ultimate evil in Insomnia – the Crimson King – is trying to destroy a child called Patrick whose nother is staying at the women’s hostel with Helen. Patrick draws pictures of a dark tower and a gunslinger called Roland and we are told that one day he will save Roalnd’s life. Roland is of course the protagonist of the Dark Tower series. I haven’t read the Dark Tower series, but there do seem to be echoes of it in the symbolism used in other King stories – can’t be sure what the significance is without reading the series though. I would be interested to know what the Green Man that Lois meets really is if anyone knows?
