How is ICT used in medical diagnosis?
ICT has become increasingly useful in the field of medicine and particularly diagnosis of disease. Bioinformatics is a branch of science that uses computational algorithms for genetic sequencing and mapping genes that are responsible for human dispositions. An example of such use is shown in genetic profiling where prospective parents can find out if their child has any defective genes which may result in severe illness or chronic disease. However, the use of this procedure in diagnosis poses many ethical questions for scientists and practitioners.
