How is HPSA designation related to the 10% Medicare Incentive Program?
An area must be designated as a geographic Primary Care HPSA in order for providers to qualify to receive a 10% Medicare incentive to provide services in this area. The provider will only be paid for eligible services rendered in the geographic HPSA.
