How is Hot Door Perspective different from a 3D modeling program?
The Perspective plug-in works entirely within the 2D environment of Illustrator to create the illusion of 3D. A 3D modeling program can be very complex and expensive but will generally include 3D data for full rotation of objects and spatial interpretation. Perspective is best for projects that do not require three dimensional data or intensive modeling manipulation. Perspective can also easily handle projection of flat shapes -including outlined text – on to front, side or top faces on the Perspective grid without leaving Illustrator.
