How is HMSA’s Online Care different from other systems?
The HMSA system features live and immediate sessions with the patient. Unlike an e-visit, which involves a patient emailing a provider with a question or concern and then waiting for a response, HMSA’s Online Care happens in real time. The HMSA system allows provider access to patient health information, if the patient has granted access. The HMSA system features a choice of communications options (Web and phone), and the HMSA system is available to everyone in Hawaii. Online Care maintains complete records of all conversations and provides a summary that patients can forward to their personal care provider to help ensure continuity of care.
