How is handmade paper made?
It starts with a vision of a specific look and feel. Artisans and paper specialists then apply time-honored hand papermaking techniques to deliver that vision. This labor-intensive art form involves many steps, as well as natural elements such as cotton, water, grasses, flowers, leaves and more. Artisans create a natural pulp, then add various elements for special effects. The art of pressing, flattening and drying the pulp follows, until the creation takes the form of paper.
