How is Gigatek Wireless service different from cable?
Gigatek Wireless provides an individual connection to the Internet, unlike cable modems that provide a shared connection between residents and businesses. With a shared connection, the more users on the network, including cable TV subscribers, the slower the access speeds within the building. Gigatek Wireless manages its bandwidth to help provide consistent speeds as Internet traffic increases. As we add clients to our network we have the ability to add more bandwidth from our upstream provider on a “as needed” basis. Cable cannot. Furthermore, cable companies are reluctant to provide fixed IP addresses. Gigatek, being a full service ISP, can provide services needed for businesses operating internal and external networks.
