How is GCE ICT assessed?
For the AS level you sit two 90 minute external examinations (AS 1 and AS 2) and complete one internally assessed piece of coursework (AS 3). Each examination is marked out of 90 marks; the coursework module is worth 100 marks. The coursework involves the development of a documented ICT solution to a clearly defined problem using some advanced features of what are called generic software packages (typically a database package, a spreadsheet package or web design software).
