How is Frank Farian Corporation related to Boney M.?
Frank Farian Corporation released a benefit single for the hunger catastrophe in Ethiopia in January 1985, featuring Reggie Tsiboe on lead vocals on the A-side recording “Mother And Child Reunion”. The song was originally recorded as a Boney M. track in 1983 during “10.000 Lightyears” sessions but this version was only released on the South African only “New Christmas With Boney M.” LP, 1984. The Frank Farian Corporation version was a brushed-up remix with additional vocals by Liz Mitchell, the La Mama ladies, The School Rebels (fresh from “Happy Song” with Bobby Farrell), Raff (of “Self Control” fame), Barclay James Harvest, a. o. The B-side “I’m Alive” was a solo recording by Frank Farian. Frank Farian Corporation had nothing to do with the quasi-titled Far Corporation project that Farian went on to produce with the former members of Toto during 1985.
