How is ET data used to calculate my water budget?

0

The calculation is: BU = ET X CF X LA X 0.62 X 0.001337 BU = Billing units allocated for your outdoor water budget (1 BU = 100 cubic feet) ET = Sum of observed ET values for the billing period in inches CF = Conservation Factor LA = Landscape Area in square feet 0.62 = Conversion factor to convert inches per sq. ft into gallons per sq.ft. 0.001337 = Conversion factor to convert gallons into billing units. The Conservation Factor (CF) varies by account. The CF will be 1.0 (100 percent of the ET value) for all existing single family, landscape, and multi-family accounts that have been active prior to 9/1/2008. For new single family, landscape, and multi-family accounts that do not have pre-approved plans prior to 9/1/2008, the CF will be 0.8 (80% of the ET value). Per AB 1881, as of January 1, 2010, new plans for accounts will have a CF of 0.7 (70% of the ET value). The CF is adjusted for newer homes because they have more efficient plumbing and irrigation fixtures.
