English is the language of instruction and communication at Assiniboine Community College. All applicants must demonstrate a command of English sufficient to meet the demands of classroom instruction, discussions, and written assignments. All applicants who were educated outside of Canada must include with their application one of the following as proof of English language proficiency: • Proof of ten or more consecutive years of residency in Canada or a country on the test-exempt list, including experience in environments (like a school or workplace) using English consistently. • Successful completion of two years of full-time study in an English language high school in Canada or a country on the test-exempt list. • Successful completion (minimum 2.0 GPA or C average) of one year at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada or a country on the test-exempt list. • An acceptable score on a recognized test/program of English language proficiency.
