How is Data Stored for Analysis and AAR of a Simulation Exercise?
The S2Focus™ “Analyzer” component provides the capability to store event specific data and statistics into a relational database such as Microsoft Access™. However, since the database interface was written using an Open DataBase Connectivity (ODBC) interface, other database support is possible such as Oracle™ or Sybase™. For most users Microsoft Access™ will be sufficient since only requested data/records are stored. The S2Focus™ “Recorder” component is used to record the entire simulation exercise and is written using the Logger Data Interchange Format (LDIF) to a binary file. Since a common database is used to store After Action Review (AAR) and statistics data, users can write additional queries to obtain additional information without software development.
