How is customer confidentiality maintained?
Customer confidentiality is critical to the PCS process. The PCS staff handles information provided by customers as highly confidential and does not share it with anyone. Rigid security procedures are in place for the storage, handling and destruction of information following an event. Loss estimates are reported only in the aggregate and without any reference to the companies that participated in the survey. PCS will only publish loss estimates when it has obtained information from companies representing over 50% of the premium market share in an affected country, which helps shield companies dominant in specific countries.
