Cottage in a Day is modern because the design steps away from conventional concepts of how people live and relate in their space. Efficiency is selected over sprawl to minimize the footprint of the structure and get a variety of uses out of the same design features. Cottage in a Day is modular because it is based on a simple 14′ by 14′ square that can be supplemented with additional modules to achieve a variety of floor plans and uses.
