How is cosmetic Argan Oil different from culinary Argan Oil?
Cosmetic Argan Oil goes through a cold-pressed technique whereas culinary Argan Oil goes through a heat-pressed technique. The Argan fruits are removed with a machine, and the left over nuts are manually crushed between two stones by the women to get an intact almond. These almonds are then slightly roasted for exclusive culinary use. Cold-pressed means that the oil was not heated over a certain temperature (usually 80 degrees Fahrenheit) during processing, thus retaining more nutrients and undergoing less degradation.
