A contract is established as a MAC employee, and the associated forms and processes apply, e.g. eAppoint (24 hrs. or less per week), Position Requisition. Payments for MAC contracts are made on a regular biweekly basis over the period of time the work is performed. • When an existing Ryerson employee, e.g. RFA member, CUPE Unit 1 or 2 employee, etc. performs other additional work, outside of the normal duties of their position (other than teaching, course development or course/program coordination) are they an employee? Answer: Yes. As a general rule, Ryerson employees may not be treated as independent contractors when providing services to the University, even if the services are outside of the normal duties of their position. For more details, please see Ryerson’s Employee/Employer Relationship policy at http://www.ryerson.ca/about/vpadministration/assets/pdf/1-Establishing-Employee-Employer-Relationships.pdf • How are payments processed for additional services provided by RFA member
