A conflict of commitment is a form of a conflict of interest. Faculty members must report certain outside activities to their departments on an annual basis. While the conflict of commitment policy focuses on outside activities, the conflict of interest in research policy focuses on financial interests related to research. Financial interests related to sponsored research must be disclosed to the Conflict of Interest Committee.
