How is Christmas Celebrated in Portugal?

0

In Portugal Christmas celebrations are religious in nature and involved putting up the Creche or Nativity scene and family attending the Midnight Mass or “Missa do Galo’ on Christmas Eve. The traditional decorations of the town and homes is done along with the giving of gifts and the children look forward to the Epiphany on January 5, when they put out their shoes, waiting for the Three Wise Men to place gifts and goodies in them. The ‘consado’ for feast is a highlight for Christmas Day and often include stuffed turkey and desserts. Look here for more information: http://www.theholidayspot.com/christmas/…
