How is Christmas celebrated in Norway?

0

I’m a Norwegian living in Norway, but I lived in the US a couple years ago, and I celebrated christmas there with an american family. I would say that it’s pretty much like christmas in America, with the exception that you open the christmas presents on the evening of december 24th, and that you eat something called “pinnekjøtt” (basically just boiled lamb).. supposedly some people eat lutefisk too but I have only once actually met somene who eats lutefisk on christmas eve.. and very few people in Norway go to church during Christmas, we’re really not a Christian nation.. Oh, and somebody mentioned Santa Lucia, well, they only celebrate that in kindergarden and in elementary schools nowadays. So it’s really not a big day, and unfortunately most people don’t do anything special on that day nowadays…
