How is cheating prevented at LAMP Online High School?
LAMP Online High School in Minnesota uses many methods to prevent cheating and maintain our stellar academic integrity in the online learning environment. First, LAMP teachers can proctor tests. These are tests students can only access during a limited time frame. Tests are set up so students can’t go back to look at previous computer screens. When possible, tests are created in a manner that requires students to apply what they learned instead of listing memorized facts. Cheating and plagiarism on any work is strictly prohibited. LAMP Online High School teachers pride themselves on getting to know each student, including the student’s typical work, and can generally identify factors that may indicate a student has cheated. To prevent students from getting by without doing their share of group work, LAMP Online High School uses a learning platform that shows exactly who has done which work.
