How is Calsura different from other calcium additives?

0

Calsura, or CCM, is a complex of calcium in combination with citric and malic acids. It is more soluble than other calcium sources commonly used to fortify foods, such as calcium carbonate, tricalcium phosphate, and calcium citrate. Calsura is a highly absorbable (or bioavailable) source of calcium and has been shown in clinical trials to be better absorbed than calcium carbonate and a tricalcium phosphate / calcium lactate blend. The CCM complex may help protect calcium from interaction with other components of the diet that can impede absorption, such as oxalates and phytates.
