How is Bureaucratic Power Checked?
The power of bureaucracy is checked in a number of ways. Bureaucratic officials, and the bureaucracy as a whole, are very powerful, but the limits placed on them are very clear and specific. Bureaucratic officials are not above the law; at least, they’re not supposed to be. No one government agency will have elite power because the power is always shared with other agencies, and in some cases, directly with Congress.
