How is bruAPP different than other backup appliances?
Self-sufficiency best describes the difference. Other backup appliances provide only a part of a backup capability. For example, virtual tape appliances (VTLs) require a physical system and backup software to operate. The bruAPP appliance is an entire backup server system solution that contains a backup-focused boot environment, disk stage capacity, tape technology in some models, the backup software, and licenses to back up client systems – all in a tightly integrated package.
