How is Botox for Hyperhidrosis Administered?
Botox treatments for hyperhidrosis work by blocking the message from the nerve to the sweat gland so that perspiration is greatly reduced, or stopped, in the area that it is injected. A “Starch / Iodine Test” is usually done prior to the Botox treatment. This outlines the area where the sweat glands are the most active, and the Botox is then injected into this area.
