How is billing traditionally handled by a municipality?
Traditionally, meter read information is passed from the field personnel to the billing department where information is uploaded to customer accounts often manually. Bills are then printed, placed in envelopes and mailed. Payments are returned to the department by mail where they are recorded against customer accounts and deposited.
