The two are different but complementary and many organizations pursue both. Magnet recognizes quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice. Baldrige is much broader. It focuses on the whole organization. Baldrige is also non-prescriptive. It gives you only the questions; you must come up with the answers.
