Ayurvastra is a means practising traditional ayurvedic medicine. Ayurvastra is ayurvedic treatment through skin exposure to fabrics dyed in medicinal herb dyes.These cloths are thus a medium for avurvedic treatment as the skin recieved the medicinal benefits of these herbs through the exposure to clothing, bedding, or coir mats. • Where did the term Ayurvastra come from? It is related to Ayurveda, a 5000 year old practice originating in Kerala that used natural herbs to treat illness and promote good health. • Is Ayurvastra an ancient tradition or a new technique? Ayurvastra is an ancient tradition that HLWDS has revived. Ayurvastra was practiced some 5000 years ago in the Kerala region but was discontinued.
