How is attendance counted if students leave early or arrive late?
Funding for core grant awards is based on student attendance in the full program. Before-school programs must operate at least 90 minutes, and after-school programs must operate three hours per day, five days per week. Each program’s local collaborative partners determine attendance patterns needed in order to meet both locally defined goals and requirements of the program. • Must a program deal with all three program components or focus on one? The application narrative must include each of the three components: (1) academic assistance; (2) enrichment; and (3) family literacy services. The academic assistance and enrichment components are required to be included in a request for a core grant award. In addition, an assessment of the need for family literacy services must be made.
