How is assessment and moderation affected by the new Australian curriculum? Who will maintain the responsibility for this?
State and territory jurisdictions are responsible for quality assurance processes leading to senior certification. Externally moderated school-based assessment in the senior schooling years will continue under the new Australian curriculum in Queensland. QSA will monitor the impact of the content and achievement standards in the Australian syllabuses on the processes for moderating school-based assessment along with the suite of other syllabuses and study area specifications not included in a national curriculum.
