Anger is like a drug; people can become addicted to anger in the same way as they become addicted to tobacco, alcohol, prescription drugs, or street drugs. Anger is a problem when it separates families, friends, colleagues, and co-workers. Anger is an economic problem; it can result in court costs and other fines, loss of work, and medical expenses. Recognizing physiological responses to perceived threats, having a mental plan to counter these responses, and maintaining self-control will ultimately result in changed behavior.
