How is ADA enforced?
The U.S. Department of Justice has the primary responsibility for enforcement of Title III ADA requirements. People with disabilities who feel they have been discriminated against may also institute lawsuits. Regulations have been issued by the attorney general (28 CFR Part 36) which include the minimum guidelines for accessibility of new or remodeled structures developed by the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board.
