How is Accelerated Christian Education different to the regular Irish system?
Teachers and Classroom Assistants are referred to as Supervisors and Monitors respectively. The children are taught to address them as Miss Rachel for example or Mr. Collins . Classes are much smaller and the learning programs are individualised for each student. This means that although the students all complete the exact same curriculum, they proceed at a pace suitable for the individual. Thus, certificates are awarded for courses completed rather than on the basis of age. Some students will finish the course of study more quickly than others but there is no pressure as students do not compete against each other and are often unaware as to where exactly a peer is positioned on the curriculum. Individual tutoring is offered at the student s desk rather than the traditional method of teacher addressing the class at large. This serves to enhance the trust between a student and his/her teacher and eliminates the student s ever feeling too embarrassed to ask a question or getting left beh
