How is a worship music tour different from a Christian rock tour?
It’s hard to tell in concert settings like this. There are lights, people bought a ticket. But the difference is our leadership approach. Israel and I are both worship leaders at our church. So we invite people to worship and to sing. These aren’t singer-songwriter songs that you sit and listen to. And it’s the environment. The lyrics are on the screen, so it’s not like your normal concert. And also, worship is not just gathering here to sing. There has to be some action taken. Every night I talk about onemillion.com, the movement we launched last year, and how the audience can do something with that. How did onemillioncan get started? In 2007, after the event we call the Passion Conference, [one of the organizers], Louie Giglio, set up eight global causes on the website. We were saying to the college students who attend the conference, “Here’s something you can do this weekend to change someone’s life.” There were 20,000 students at the conference and they gave over a million dollars.
