How is a Travel Agent compensated?
Unless fees are discussed up front for such ala Carte services such as airline reservations or restaurant arrangements, all agents are compensated through the various suppliers used and at no additional cost to the traveler. For example, Walt Disney Travel Company offers compensation to Travel Agents at no additional cost to the clients. Most hotel chains also offer compensation to Travel Agents and offer specialist training courses to Agents to make sure we are adequately prepared to sell their individual properties (see my certifications on the About Me page).
