Note that the tactics of the Ba’athists in battling us have taken the SAME evolutionary path that the Arabs and Palestinians have taken in battling the Israelis: When American forces couldn’t be defeated by conventional warfighting tactics, they turned to terrorism (sniping, feighning surrenders then attacking), and quickly moved on to suicide bombings. The evolution took days for the Ba’athists, while it took years for the Palestinians to come to the same point.
