How is a strategic plan developed and implemented?
There are six processes associated with the development of a strategic plan. An External Analysis* examines, among other things, social, economic, and demographic trends. An Internal Analysis* explores management and operational processes, organizational resources and future needs. Together the internal and external analyses indicate the current status of the district and provide the basis for a Strategic Direction.* The strategic direction is expressed in the development of goals and Strategic Plans.* The strategic plans are Implemented* by committees chaired by the administrative team. At yearly intervals the plan is evaluated* and the results are shared openly with the professional staff, Steering Committee, community and School Board. *All steps in the plan involved board members, administrators, teachers, parents, students and community members.
