How is a pre-selection choice changed on an existing telephone service?
A customer changes their pre-selection choice by accepting an offer of pre-selectable carriage service provider or by requesting a carriage service provider to be its Pre-selected carriage service provider. If an existing subscriber requests such a change of pre-selection in favour of another carriage service provider, then that provider will advise the local access provider and the previously chosen or losing carriage service provider that the subscriber has requested a change in their pre-selection preference. The change will then be made at the local exchange level where the local access provider will set the default provider for all pre-selectable services without changing the local call arrangements. The provider of the pre-selection services then bills the cost of the pre-selectable calls directly to the subscriber.
