How is a mini tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) performed?

During a mini tummy tuck procedure, Dr. Core will make a small transverse incision just above your pubic area of about 6-8 inches in length. Then, a small amount of skin is removed, and the area is liposuctioned. A small amount of undermining is done below the umbilicus; the muscles are re-tightened with sutures in the lower abdominal midline. To prevent the buildup of tissue fluid in the pocket, a small drain is placed for approximately 8-10 days. Typically, patients return to full activity in two weeks. This procedure is best for patients who have minimal excess skin laxity of the lower abdomen and/or minimal laxity of the abdominal muscles.
