how is a light microscope better than an electron microscope?

Neoskept made some excellent comparisons between advantages of the light microscope over that of the electron microscope. I would just like to add a few more: 1. All specimens viewed with the electron microscope are nonliving because the specimen is placed in a vacuum chamber. Not so with the light microscope. 2. With the light microscope, you view the natural colors of the specimen. Not so with the electron microscope. 3. Specimen preparation is simpler with the light microscope compared to that of the electron microscope. 4. Repairs and general maintenance is simpler with the light microscope as compared to the electron microscope.
